One of Gentle Turner & Sexton’s most significant areas of practice involve its service as Claims Administrator for the Monsanto PCB Settlement in Anniston, Alabama, and as Escrow Agent and Special Master for Multi-District Litigation.
Below are a few of the Firm’s general duties as the Claims Administrator for the Monsanto PCB Settlement:
- Determination of a claimant payment matrix.
- PCB blood testing.
- Determination of claimant eligibility for benefits and issue payment checks.
- Handling all tax, financial and accounting aspects of the settlement fund.
Below are a few of the Firm’s general duties as the Escrow Agent in MDL 926:
- Claims payment and administration services for class actions.
- Issuing and reissuing claimant benefit payments.
- Paying vendors and professionals providing goods and services to Settlement Funds.
- Oversight of Settlement Fund investments.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports of

- B) Investment results of the various funds.
- Quarterly and Annual Financial Statements, Annual Income Tax Returns and Annual Fiduciary Financial Accounting for the Court.
- Projecting the periodic replenishment amounts needed by the Settlement Funds to pay claimants and vendors.
- Tax planning for the Settlement Funds.
Special Master
The Firm also serves as Special Master to the Protogen sling MDL, resolving disputed settlement amounts.
